The Resurrection of the D.S. Ire
This theme completely new in the entire piece is a quotation from another of Rockmanonoff's works, his Vespers or All-Night Vigil. It seems that finally the D.S. Ire has been defeated by this new resurrection theme. The Tam Tam should be allowed to vibrate after hitting the instrument, rather than dampening it immediately. That would result in the ending sounding like the recording you just heard.
