JavaScript as a Programming Language for Automation?
Apple didn't want to allow programming languages, basically, to run on the phone or on iOS. But they did let you run JavaScript because you have to be able to use Safari and Safari run JS. So if you write that script, it's going to work on iOS devices and the Mac. Trying to automate things with C would close the door in a lot of people.
