Is Highway Removal Dead Wrong?

Cities allowed for interstates to be, why did they allow their neighborhoods to be plowed up in these interstates put through that very quickly sucked their tax base out to the suburbs? Why was there not a city level revolt against this? "The typical answers that we hear I think are dead wrong"
