The movement was led by a guy named william b riley who founded an evangelical college called northwestern bible and missionary training school in minnesota. He also built a network of fundamentalist pastors acrossthe try to break into main stream pop culture. They pushed the movement towards engagement with american society like televangelists for the radio age. And around 19 18, 19 19, he decides it's time to organize them together. Riley organized the first meeting of the world's christian fundamental association which brought leaders from all major bible schools across the country.
