Is It Going to Take Forever to Redesign a Method of Reading Instruction?
If you have difficulties with what we call phonology, then that's going to make learning to read difficult. And so indeed learning to read is difficult for many deaf children. Do you see a world where we aim to act some more on technology, helping kids to learn to read at home using evidence-based approaches? Ah, this is a great question. Sometimes it does feel very frustrating that the pace of change is slower than we'd like. But I actually see a world in my lifetime where we're using evidence- based approaches in every classroom.
