Koop: I think that when people ask me what I'm interested in most of the Delos, I often start with a notion of imminence and patchwork or networks. So that thread that you've picked out is very much something that I think I got from Delos early on. And for me, one of the instances of this that struck me personally most dramatically was the difference between jazz improvisation and playing from a score. But it's not the same thing as improvising with a group of other people on the spot and coming up with music. It's better than knowing too much like a Dorna.
