The Importance of Animal Rights in Court

Chosanu was a Roman lawyer who believed that animals had legal rights and entitlements. He wrote Consilium Prima, a treatise on how to rightfully try animals in courts of law. Many other animal trials in Europe are well established in the historical record. There is evidence that these weren't just kangaroo courts. While some animals were convicted, others were acquitted.
