The Story of the Ghost Dance
The message of the ghost dance began to spread among many Native American peoples. It reached the Lakota in South Dakota, and it's their name for it that was translated as ghost dance. One of its purposes was to help reunite the living with the spirits or ghosts of their lost loved ones.
