The Drive of Drives the Primary Drive
The experience of the sense of vision is very different from that of hearing. Part of the reason why objectifications usually proceed through sight and rather than sound is because there is a kind of distance already built in to sight. Because an eyelid can be closed or opened it establishes an interior and an exterior. The intimacy that hearing allows is at some level unstoppable, yet the distanciality that vision allows can be easily stopped by simply closing your eyes.
