Alan Dershowitz: I remember trying to get a handle on these disputes when I started at law fair in 2015, 2016. And it is mildly astonishing to me that we have gotten basically nowhere since then. It's like how Anchorman defined jogging. You run and you run and you never get anywhere. He says the European Union institutions take a very kind of high-minded view of privacy; member states security services cannot afford to take quite as high-minded a view of privacy. But here you can't quite do all three because the Court of Justice or whoever the final decision maker is just about what America does for Europe.
