personality's not the most important determinant weather couples are going to work, it's values matter a lot more. Ift either or both of the partners are disagreeable or neurotic, that makes relationships harder. I don't want to judge, but disagreableness and neuroticism tend to more dissatisfaction and more break up in relationships. Although i have one bone to pick with relationships research wishes, they always define breaking up as a bad outcome. Many people should break up, and for many people it's a positive experience.
