The Dark Side of Neome
1.2 billion pound contract awarded for Neom's railway between the oxygen and the line in Saudi Arabia. Local tribespeople were trying to resist eviction from the site around the line that were rounded up by the government and arrested. Some of them have received sentences of 50 years in prison and five of them at the time of recording have been sentenced to death. This is a very early example of how behind the gloss there is some darker stuff going on.
