Magic and Music in the 20th Century

There is a very long association of music, the power of music, to alter people's emotions with magic. And that's partly why advocates for magical practice have retroactively construed even ancient magical practice about which we only know really what was written down by mostly male elite class philosophers. The Western tradition has consistently since Plato has marginalized and denigrated music and emotion and the body as being bad for you.
