The Politics of Political Compromises Around Fossil Fuel Expansion
The US is preparing to sign a United Nations Treaty on the global climate, but their global agreement isn't global. A 132 of 166 countries are exempt from having to make drastic cuts in energy use. Countries responsible for almost half the world's emissions won't have to cut back. Dr Steinberger also notes that the idea of political compromises around fossil fuel expansion is outdated and unscientific.
