In family practice and palliative care she didn't know that people's emotional states had a lot to do with who got sick and who didn't. She went to psychology department of British Columbia Cancer Agency where they said there wasn't any connection between stress and cancer. "They didn't even know what was in their own library" The book feels like there's just this huge gaping hole in people's awareness of how much of their feelings affect their body and physiology.
