The Giver by Lois Lowry

The giver, by lois lowry, published 19 93, 200 and forty pages. The book was fine, perhaps even good, but it wasn't ground breaking. There are two ways to write distopias: the first is to imagine and present a fully realized world where ideally all the parts make sense. The second way is to work in allegory which can be found most often in shorter works like twilight zone and black mirror.
