The reason that you like homer is because homer is good. I think heis assuming a kind of universal human nature. A great work of art will cause this artistic appreciation, or tu excite pleasure in a person as long as they meet certain external conditions. The test of time, i think, is a great one. Nobody talks about dances with wolves. Itare, like, completely forgotten. And even if you might turn it on and think, oh, that's fine, there's something about the difference in terms of how influential good fellows was,. How re watched it is, and how completely forgotten dances with wolves is.
