The whole point of scientific publication was to allow others to replicate it. The substance of science is independent replication. If i cannot independently replicate it, it's not science. O ther's icsy a term for this. It's like a goodheart's law, when a measure becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measure. We have gotten away from what science is supposed to be - which is independent replicat.
