In 1939, Teddy Blue Abbott wrote a book about his experiences with the Plains Indians. He says he met them one year as they were migrating back from the hunt to their winter camp. The American state had thoroughly embraced the philosophy that the semi-nomadic life of the Indians had to be stopped. But this is not at all the story that Teddy Blue Abbott tells.
