Music in Every Known Culture

Music does not so much free time from temporality as bring out an aspect that is always present within time, its intersection, within a moment, which partakes of eternity. Music in every known culture used to communicate with the supernatural, with whatever is, by definition, above beyond, other than ourselves. The music means nothing in just the second, or the mille second, as you say - it's composed of slaces right outside of the of which it is a part.
