The Limits of Silicium Nitride

Russ: I'm really excited about this opportunity to talk about this material beyond silicon. And as you correctly said, gallium nitride is one of the most promising ones. You can control semiconductors to conduct like a conductor or a metal. Sometimes you want them to stop the flow of electrons or electricity. So what you're saying is that you can have a switch made out of silicon. If you could put a big enough electronic voltage across it, it may jump over what's supposed to be a closed switch.
