The Last Three Indigenous Women
On December 1st, the Winnipeg Police Service announced that they have an alleged serial killer in custody. Jeremy Skibiki is charged with murdering four indigenous women in Manitoba. The remains of 24-year-old Rebecca Contois from Crane River First Nation were found dumped in a garbage bin near an apartment building in May. DNA led police to make an arrest fairly quickly, but after a few months of investigating, they've announced three more victims: Morgan Beatrice Harris and Mercedes Myron as well as a third unidentified woman named Buffalo Girl by Elders.
