Every little decision, do i pick up this worm off the sidewalk so it doesn't die in the sun? Ordo? I keep walking? Then it ripples out to larger and larger considerations. And of course, whatever we do, one way or the other, it bounces right back. It either softens and refines, or coarsens our own hearts. This is such a basic tenet in so many of the world religions. You treat others as you would want to be treated, because, metaphysically, they are you.
