The stock market can play vigilantes as well as they did in October of 2008 when Congress failed to pass TARP on the first vote. In this environment, you want to have some defensive holdings that historically hold up in slower economic environments and also in more volatile environments. Some of the healthcare names like the Johnson and Johnson's, some of the consumer names like a dollar general or a Costco or a Pepsi will do well regardless of where we are in the economic cycle.
