When he died, DSA was maybe five or 6,000 members and it was largely that until 2016. And it's something like 100,000 now, close to that number. I don't know who's more active in terms of paper membership versus active membership, but it's far beyond anything Harrington envisioned. So on the one hand, he has this whole vision of, you know, the socialists will work with liberals, change things to socialism. But on the other hand, they're also running into a bit more of the same kind of resistance when even they are elected members,. Even modest reform to get stymied, blocked.
