The title of our book is noise so our basic goal is to put noise on the view screen. We've spent a lot of very valuable time focusing on biases it's really important to get a handle on them and to reduce them we need to think also about random variability decision hygiene is our principle remedy which has nothing to do with algorithms. The consequences for human beings who might not be in prison might not be hurt and might not be subject to interior medical care. If you are an insurance company and you realize that there is massive variability between what your claims adjusters are setting as valued for your claims you can put in place procedures to help them make less variable decisions without needing to go very deep
