How Did the Caribbean Society Come About?

Caribbean islands were created by volcanic and sismic activity. Most of the population of the west indies was tino, a tribal confederation group that spoke a language in the arawak family. The carabs travelled in large sea going canoes, so they could move quickly from island to island. And that gave them a tremendous advantage in the west indians. In some ways, you could see them as kind of comparable to vikings, sort of attacking and raiding tino towns and settlements.
