What Is the Focus of Buddhist Prayer?

i think understanding buddhist prayer and how it works helps us have a clearer idea of what christian prayer should look like. Even though a buddhist may pray over their food, over their family members, or all f those things, the focus is totally different than those same things are for a christian. So our focus is on god, who is historically revealed and personally engaged with us. And it's the same in the new age. When we look at these practices, the question is, where is the focus? Is it on christ and becoming like him, or is it on ourselves and becoming a better version of me?
