The U.S. has not faced a peer military threat since the end of maybe the Korean War, he says. We can't really launch an expeditionary war because Russia would destroy us, Larry writes. The only thing that will prevent it from happening is that the United States wouldn't have time to build up its forces in Iraq and then send troops there again.
