The Importance of Training the Immune System to React to Threats

It's very hard to do these counterfactuals. For example, 9-11 may be an overreaction, but in a parallel universe, it could have turned out if we hadn't had that reaction then they would have gotten their hands in a nuclear weapon. So the immune system is going to react the way it's going to react. We don't want everyone to be a big brother, every neighbor spying on everyone, and constantly surveilling and reporting on everyone. That's a nightmare scenario. But at the same time, these new categories of technology is just enabling new category of threats that the immune system has to be trained to recognize and then respond to.
