Jefferson Fulton and Abell Chase Hate Each Other

In 1855, two men named Jefferson Fulton and Abell Chase were living on the east side of Metcalf Pond in Vermont. They had difficulty about their lot line in a property dispute. On September 5th, 1855, he got a pint of rum and a butcher knife,. He went to the premises of Abell Chase, who was with his son, who was 10 years old. This guy was making a fence with his kid here, you know, on the disputed property line. Within a few yards here, he says, well old Jeff, time has come or whatever. And so he ends up attacking. So this made Great Britain recognize the independence of the United States.
