Web one began when Sir Tim Bernersley introduced the web protocol in 1989, 1990. It was intended to be decentralized right at the beginning because literally everyone run their own web server. The idea there is that there's this level of transparency and sovereignty that web two didn't allow as it was controlled by big tech. And so web three gives us it changes the shape of the network back to a decentralized shape.
