Today’s pod is a Candid Conversation with Oscar nominated screenwriter and accidental political guru Billy Ray. Billy makes his living in Hollywood, but transfers those skills to Washington, to consult and speech write for many of the Democrats you know who are making a splash. I’m having Billy on because we share the mission of trying to reimagine how Democrats message. We want to see those who believe in democracy and liberal values fired up and successful. This isn’t just about beating a dangerous alternative, but truly attempting to make this country what it could be. Democrats are not known for being great at messaging, and we need to get out of the trap of being defensive when we really should be on offense. This is a great conversation for anyone who cares about finding our way out of this crisis in American history and supporting those who would lead us toward a brighter future.
