A Study of Gamma Ray Bursts

A gamma ray burst is recorded as detector you can think about it as the ccd in your camera although it's a different type of thing. It's acquiring photons right a lot of photons arrive and there are times of arrival and the energies are recorded. You can make a plot of how many photons have arrived over time great sounds sounds reasonable i i buy that okay so imagine that um you were doing that with a steady source of light for example. If things had been kind of just right maybe we would be able to see a modulation of the gamma ray burst with that characteristic frequency of a hypermassive neutron star.
