The S&P 500 and the NASDAQ: A Comparison
The life changer rallies end up occurring most often if the index closes below both the 50 and the 200 day moving average. If you close above both of them, you can have a slog or moneymaker, but less likely the life changer. This has the characteristics of a slog or a small loss or gain scenario where we end up with maybe a 3% gain in the index to 15% gain before we get our next correction. Now, of course, these are all just statistics and things can change. But at least from a statistical viewpoint, right now this is looking like a type of rally.
