The Disgrace of the Star Wars Trilogy

I'm very on the side of like the art is not the artist. I think that's a harder position to hold in the modern world because of people's expectations sometimes. Why doesn't that apply to the Star Wars films then? Like, why can't you look at the original trilogy as like a quarantined piece of art separate from all these prequels and sequels and millions of other things?"
