Prometheus at 4,862 years old was considered to be the oldest living thing in the world until 2012 when a new or oldest one was discovered. "I got so sad for the tree and also because this guy probably ended up living under a bridge," he says of his former professor who killed the world's oldest thing. The new oldest one is unnamed; no one's ever named it.
