Bethany Across the Jordan, the Greek Form of the Name Beshan
This is not Bethany across the Jordan. In 1877, a fellow who was actually a friend of Sir Charles Warren, found that inscribed stone inside the temple on the summit of Mount Ramon. The Golan Heights are covered with megalithic monuments to the dead for the cult of the dead. They can't use the term dolmen to describe clusters of dolmens anymore because they don't know where one ends and next one begins. For all intents and purposes, according to this guy, it's nowhere near Petra.
