What Is Morality Like for Aquinas?
For Aquinas and for Aristotle before him, morality was not about commandment and obedience at yielding like what is good. It was about happiness. For Aquinas the highest pleasure is going to be what we have in heaven. And it's not going to be pleasure disconnected from God. So that these are different ways of talking about what is good now. Can you work a commandment into like Aquinas' system? Absolutely.
