What Is Ethical?

In 2020, overshoot day was almost an entire month later than in 2019 because of the pandemic. What is ethical to me is decreasing the amount of consumption done by that top 10%, or that top 20 or top 50%. To me, it doesn't seem unethical to say stop flying in planes so much,. Or to somebody who lives in a 15,000 square foot mansion to downgrade to a modest 3,000 or 4,000 square feet.
