The banks have taken short-term deposits which are really like a short-term loan. So then what the bank does is they put it into long-term securities. The Silicon Valley Bank was a bank that took all these deposit flows coming in and put them into long-dated securities. Bad timing took off the hedges, of course, to try to be more profitable.
