The New York Times' Response to the Anti-Trans Bias Letter

In 2023, contributors to the New York Times called out the paper's anti-trans bias in a public letter. The more than 1,000 signatories included prominent writers like Roxanne Gay and Chelsea Manning. GLAD demanded that the Times change its coverage and stop printing bias stories. By mashing them together into a single act of protest, the paper gave itself permission to ignore calls for change from the inside.
