Predictive Processing in the Brain

To engage in predictive perceptions, our brain needs to incode something like a generative model. That's how you you do base an inference in the brain. If you've got aGenerative model that can invert that mapping, then that's capable of predicting what sensory signals would happen conditional on different kinds of actions. This is a it brings in an extension of predictive processing that's technicaly called active inference. We start to think about reducing prediction errors by making actions to sort of make our predictions come true.
