King John II of Aragon
King John II of Aragon remarried and had two children with Juaná Enricas. His favorite son, Ferdinand, was born in 1452 at the age of nine. He wanted to take over his neighbor King Henry IV of Castile by marriage. But he couldn't get a divorce from Queen Blanche because she didn't have an heir. In 1469 Isabella decided it was Ferdinand who she would wed regardless. She got permission from the Pope as they were second cousins. The king died suddenly on September 23, 1461.
