The Court Holds That Public Use Is Equal to Public Purpose

Petitioners say the government can't just take their property and hand it over to a private corporation. The legal issue here is about the takings clause of the Fifth Amendment. If that's public, then what could a private purpose possibly look like? There's nothing really stopping the government from just seizing a poor person's home and giving it to a rich person on the grounds that they have the resources to do better with it.
