The National Electric Light Association and the National Electric Institute
There's a period, again, prior to the Great Depression when utility regulation was a very big deal because there were financial shenanigans going on within the industry. The National Electric Light Association was the predecessor of the Edison Electric Institute that we have now. Nila organized an enormous propaganda campaign to prevent federal regulation and even state regulation of electric utilities.
