The Importance of Correctness in Conlang

Conlangers have generated quite a few with conlang artlang and slang. In physics you have stuff like the flavors of quirks up down top bottom term strange. But when you encounter these specialized terms think about how they must have come about. I haven't done so much research but I wonder if right side in sign is influenced by the expression right side out, or is it simply just showing the importance of showing the prettier or more appealing side of fabric to the outside?
