The Importance of Free Energy
Free energy is like energy that is within a system that can be used towards an end. So the heuristically, the way you can think about it is that the variational free energy is a measure of how much wiggle room you have on your parameters still to get a better representational grip on whatever you're trying to represent. And so out of all of them, I think like you can tie all of these ease to the free energy stuff. It has to do with these deep relations between probability and energy.
