CHAPTER

The Relationship of Language Models to the World

I'm curious to what extent those questions also kind of come into your thinking and all of this. For example, when you think about how humans come to acquire meaningful representations of the world, there are questions about whether certain kinds of structured domains in the world have a certain structure that is reflected in the structure of representations in the human mind. That is one aspect, one related question that I think about, but the really deep philosophical question about whether, say, we experienced the world as it really is or something along these lines. The work in philosophy that I drew more inspiration from, pertains to the philosophy of language and philosophical theories of Representation.
