The Importance of Courage in Leaving Your Job

I think there's a certain amount of courage involved, like going independent, no matter what your circumstances are. When you have a job that has insurance and at least that perceived permanence, giving something up like that to go independent is like a whole new level. I didn't feel like giving up being editor in chief to being a freelancer even if I could make the same amount of money. In hindsight, I don't think I would have been happy. If he had gotten the job, I probably would have considered leaving anyway.
